First Week

We are on our last day of our first week here at New Missions Systems International. We are loving being back to work. As mentioned before; Joe is working entirely in finance and I am working half time with the Department of Children and Family and half time with People and Orgnizational Development (POD). My title under POD is 'administrative assistant'.

In POD I am working to help keep the department organized. We help see people who want to affiliate and join NMSI from very first interest all the way until they are deployed to their respective fields. So one of the very fun parts about my job in this department is that I am the first person anyone interacts with when they are interested in our organization. I also get to learn a lot about all the people who come through and am able to see them go through the process of first becoming aware of God's calling on their lives all the way to when that dream becomes reality. I am very excited about this!

In Children and Family we are preparing for the next COAT training which takes place March 2-April 16. This time around we only have four young girls between the ages of 2 and 6, and we only have them for the first two weeks. While this does not give us much time actually having kids to work with, it will give us time on cementing a more permanant curriculum we can use for future COAT groups. Each group is different and will have it's specific changes but we would like to have a core curriculum that we are sure to teach to each group that comes through.

In Finance, Susan (Joe's upline) has returned from her daughter's wedding but has been in meetings all day today and yesterday as our board members have been here. So Joe has spent all this week with Jeanette learning all the aspects of 'Accounts Recievable'. Next week he will work with one of the other ladies and learn her job and the week after that he will do the same with another finance woman. After he has completely learned all the aspects of the Finance Department, he will turn around and become an internal auditor for the Finance Department. This will ensure that all the money coming through our organization is being spent well and efficiently. One of our big goals is to be good stewards of the money and resources God has entrusted to us.

As I mentioned above, our board members are in town. They have been here yesterday and today for the semi-annual board meetings. So here in the office there have been about half again as many people running around and everyone is wearing business casual; a 'privelage' usually reserved only for Tuesdays. Today we spend every meal of the day with the board members. Tonight we are having supper on a paddle boat on the Caloosahatche river. I don't know if it will go down into the Gulf or not. I'll let you all know afterwards.

Thank you again for your support!
We love you!
